Join us for our biennial fundraising fete in the heart of Surry Hills. A family friendly fete full of fun, rides, cool summer sounds, child friendly workshops, food and entertainment; where our students, teachers and parents will showcase our wonderful school and the vibrant community in which we live.
In 2019 our fete will be celebrating our schools 170th anniversary of awesome learning, teaching and community, making Crown Street Public School one of the oldest continuous schools in Australia. Our new cook book, ‘Crown Street Celebrates’, will be available to purchase on the day.
We welcome everyone, and all former ‘Crownies’ to come along to our family friendly fete to mark this special occasion, explore the school grounds, take a look at our archives, reunite with old school friends and reminisce.
Cash and credit card facilities available, plus an ATM on site fete day.
Our fete artwork was designed by the talented illustrator, creative worker and parent, Susanna Harrison. We were delighted when Susanna offered to design our fete poster. Susanna has truly captured the spirit of our fete and school community. Take a look at her amazing work here www.susannaharrison.com.au
Who is our Master of Ceremonies for the day?
Mike Galvin, founder of the Darlo Darlings, will be our Master of Ceremonies (MC) on fete day. A seasoned presenter, we can’t wait to have Mike connect and welcome everyone to our 170th year celebrations at Crown Street Public School.
Mike is the Founder of the Darlo Darlings Facebook Group and has worked in hospitality, telecommunications, technology, sales and social media. He loves the Postcode 2010 community and has been the lead in creating several successful events to support our homeless and marginalised community. He has a passion for food and travel and through his blog he shares recipes, experiences and stories about the people he meets. Who will be our DJ for the day?
Jeremy Thomas is not just a DJ, but a super cool dad at school and a former Crownie! Jeremy has always been involved in music so when he hit the ‘wheels of steel’ (turntables), back in the ‘share house’ days of Surry Hills, a passion turned into a job and an events business. Always a crowd pleaser for birthdays and corporate events, Jeremy will be entertaining the fete crowd with some ‘cool summer vibes’. A veritable jack of all trades; his current role as a freelance sales executive for Vegware (plant based catering disposables) leaves time to run a Redfern pop up and workshop area ‘Cubby Space’ and care for his daughter who attends Crown Street Public School.
